About
THANKS for dropping by. When my nieces were younger and totally obsessed with their American Girl Dolls, I fed their "passion for fashion". They've since moved on to more "grown-up" fashion, but I find myself drawn to the fabrics that suit these smaller fashionistas. Even though I've been sewing for a l-o-n-g time, I've never lost the thrill of finding exactly the right fabric with just the right buttons for that one particular outfit. I still sew my own clothes but the doll's clothes are so cute! I use some purchased patterns as a base for my clothes but since I never met a pattern I couldn't improve, most of my outfits are customized. It takes time and effort but I'm proud of the results. And it's fun - what other "career" let's you giggle at work? As a result I have limited edition garments and outfits. My preferred fabric is 100% cotton - woven or knit. I like to serge all my finished edges. I work from my non-smoking home. My sewing room is chaotically, creatively messy - but I try to limit the overflow so that my poor beleaguered husband doesn't get buried in fabric. He's my "techie": using his genius to post all of this to the web-market. So now that you know a little about me and “Your Doll’s Closet”, why not check out my store. Enjoy your visit! Sandra
